Who We Are
Our Mission Statement
My mission is to provide a warm and comfortable space for clients to be themselves without fear of judgment. Therapy should be where you can come as you are and trust that you are being seen and heard. I believe my clients are the experts on who they are and what they need, and my role is to provide support, unbiased insight, and appropriate tools to assist them in achieving their goals.
Bio of Owner
Hello! My name is Ashley Harlan, and I am a licensed professional counselor and certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor specializing in working with adolescents and young adults who have experienced trauma, substance use, life stressors, transitions, depression, and anxiety.
I received a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University in 2017. Since then, I have gained extensive education and experience in treating adjudicated and dependent adolescents with substance use and mental health-related concerns. I am also passionate about working with young adults who wish to improve boundaries and build self-esteem.
I use a person-centered approach in my practice, meaning I tailor my approach to each client’s needs and goals. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing.
Through psychotherapy services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I aim to create a safe and comfortable space for my clients to utilize in whichever way they wish. I love incorporating humor into therapy and pride myself on being non-judgmental and open-minded. I am also LGBTQIA+ affirmative. Lastly, I love cats, playing games, engaging with different parts of pop culture, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
